Apple vs. Android

In The Daily Beast, Dan Lyons wrote an article” Even Woz Thinks the Android Beats the Iphone” he went on to saying Apple cofounder Steve Woznaik still loves his iPhone, but says in some ways, Android has leapt ahead So I think this is pretty funny because I posted a blog about 3 months ago questioning which one was better “iphone4s or andriod”….you can see that post here and there was a lot of backlash on facebook and on this blog, because for some reason if you love apple…you LOVE  Apple and you almost take it personally if someone insults one of your apple products. So if you’re Apple that’s a pretty awesome thing, because you have an army of people that will fight till the end to defend their Apple products!

What I thought was really interesting about the article in the daily beast was Woz’s opinion of Siri’s progress…he said, “But ever since Apple bought Siri and built the software into the iPhone 4S, it doesn’t work as well as it used to.“I used to ask Siri, ‘What are the five biggest lakes in California?’ and it would come back with the answer. Now it just misses. It gives me real estate listings. I used to ask, ‘What are the prime numbers greater than 87?’ and it would answer. Now instead of getting prime numbers, I get listings for prime rib, or prime real estate,” Woz says. Worse, a lot of the time Siri says it can’t make a connection to the back-end servers that power the system. “With the iPhone 4 I could press a button and call my wife. Now on the 4S I can only do that when Siri can connect over the Internet. But many times it can’t connect. I’ve never had Android come back and say, ‘I can’t connect over the Internet.’”

Which raises a few questions…I wish I was able to have two phones to compare at the same time but if you’ve read my posts in the past I had the iphone 4s for 14 days and now I have a thunderbolt. But I surely thought that Siri would only get better with time not worse? I felt that the more data that it would collect the better her answers would be, but I suppose that all depends on the software that is running in the background? So if you have Siri, are you experiencing these problems that Woz said?

Also, I understand that the “Kip and Gary comics” are for a particular niche market and not everyone wants to see the latest on them but maybe you still want to see the latest on my apple reviews so I created a separate RSS  feed just to “apple products review” category and you can subscribe by Clicking Here
