The in-between camera….Canon SX40 HS

Yes it’s official… i’m obsessed with gadgets!

So I think i’ve mentioned a couple of times that I bought the Canon 60D and it’s amazing camera, the only problem is it’s really big to carry around everywhere. I have a snap and shoot which is really small but it lacks in zoom and image quality. So I spent a lot of time researching the perfect in-between Camera…And this is what I found…introducing the Canon SX40 HS….

Dimensions (W x H x D)
4.84 x 3.64 x 4.24 in. / 122.9 x 92.4 x 107.7mm

Approx. 21.2 oz (600g) (including the battery and memory card)

Now there are a lot of other cameras out there, and the closets one I was comparing this to was the Nikon Cool Pix 500 both are very similar in size and zoom, but the thing that got me was it didn’t have a flip that completely flipped out. The Nikon’s lens tilts but doesn’t rotate out…and that just was a deal breaker there…

Now what is so amazing about this camera is that it takes HD video which I will review in a different post, and it has an amazing zoom 24 mm-840 mm zoom lens which if you own an SLR that is one crazy lens. So I decided to do a test and it just so happened that we had a beautiful moon last evening so what better way to test…see the results!
