So Youtube’s critics can be a little harsh….I decided to not give up on this ipen, so I tried it with my new ipad, and a different app! Check it out!

I have some questions about the iPen for the new Ipad(3):
    1. when you calibrated the iPen did you keep same writing angle for your hand as you would normally use in writing?
    2. is the page jump problem active if you don’t rest your palm on the screen when writing?
    3. have you tried iPen with PDFs (i.e., like when filling in documents):
    4. Have you tried marking up PDFs like photographs?

Thank you for your reviews. I am considering buying a iPen or a ByZero pen and program, but can’t decide which might be better.

      Hi Rosario,

      1. I did calibrate at the same writing angel
      2. the page jump problem I found out was the gestures feature on the ipad was on, so turning that off fixes the problem
      3. the ipen only works with a couple apps, non of them work with a PDF program that I know of. I tried loading a PDF image into one of the drawing apps that it was compatible with but it didn’t work all that well
      4. Are you trying to fill in PDF docs? or are you trying to mark up a photograph?

I guess it would help if I knew what you were trying to achieve? I have the wacom tablet and the way the pen works with that is seemless, And the ipen is far from that, it has a delay and it starts to get irritating… hope this helps? 🙂

Glad to see folks finally being a bit honest on this thing. I love the idea behind the iPen … its just frustrating to see it hasn’t fulfilled its potential yet.

#1: Cregle needs to remove IMMEDIATELY all apps they list on their site that are compatible but are not. I don’t care if the Apple store is “slow” in its approval. If the app doesn’t work yet, then stop advertising it does.

#2: As the previous poster said, the page jump will go away when you turn off “gestures” on the ipad. In fact I think the text under “gestures” actually mentions this … that if you use handwriting apps, you will want to turn this off.

#3: calibration stinks for all the apps this thing works on. Even the default app needs constant calibration. In addition, if you have the default app open, toggle out of it to another app, then toggle back, the pen stops working and the app freezes. Every time.

Anyhow, I’m not giving up either. I just wish this thing would work reliably. Right now it does not.

Hi. The problem with the page shift is due to the multitask gestures on your iPad. Go to settings and disable that feature.
